1. Open the tool
Click Guideline under Tools. The right sidebar opens Guidelines.
Guidelines are construction lines, they do not appear in exported G-code. Use Snap to grid checkbox (bottom toolbar) for accurate placement.
2. Right sidebar — draft mode
When placing a new guideline:
| Instruction | Action |
|---|---|
| Click | Place a vertical guideline through the click X coordinate |
| Shift + click | Place a horizontal guideline through the click Y coordinate |
| Cancel | Exit placement mode without adding a line |
3. Guideline list
When guidelines exist, the panel shows a scrollable list with:
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Lock / Unlock All | Toggle lock on every guideline |
| Per-guideline lock | Padlock icon — locked lines cannot be dragged |
| Delete | Remove a guideline |
Click a guideline on the canvas to select it. Drag unlocked guidelines to reposition them.
Toggle visibility with View → Show Guidelines.
CNC notes
Use vertical and horizontal guides to align part zero, symmetric centres, and fixture references before drawing geometry. Helpful when setting the centre for Repeat (Circular) or checking spacing with Measure.
