1. Open the tool
Click the scissors (Trim) under Tools in the left toolbar. Shortcut: ⌘K (macOS) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux). The icon highlights while the tool is on, and a Trim panel opens on the right.
Click Trim again, ← Back, or esc to leave.
2. How to trim
Hover a line. The span that will be removed turns red. Then click.

| Click a span | Cuts that line back to the next place it meets another vector |
| Click a line that does not meet anything | Deletes the whole vector |
| ⌘-click (macOS) / Ctrl-click (Windows/Linux) | Same cut, but remaining pieces are not joined |
When leftover pieces meet at the cut, they are joined into one path. Hold ⌘ / Ctrl while clicking to skip joining.
CNC notes
A trimmed closed outline is closed along the cutting vector, so Pocket and Profile still follow the remaining interior — including letter counters and dots. Use Boolean when you want to merge or subtract whole closed shapes instead of snipping a span.
