1. Open the tool
Click Join under Tools. Select open paths Polyline and Arc segments with gaps) on the canvas.
2. Right sidebar — Join Open Ends
Selection
Shows how many vectors are selected. Click paths on the canvas to add or remove them.
Tolerance
Distance within which open endpoints are considered close enough to join (defaults: 0.1 mm or 0.005 in).
3. Join Open Ends
Click Join Open Ends to connect nearby endpoints within tolerance. When multiple segments merge into one continuous path, they become a Joined Path shape.
Use ← Back to exit the panel.
4. Quick join modes
For two selected open paths, additional quick actions may appear depending on context:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Bridge Lines | Connect endpoints with straight segments |
| Snap One Side | Move one path to meet the other |
| Deform | Adjust path ends to close the gap |
CNC notes
Join open contours before creating Profile toolpaths. Typical after hand-drawn Polyline work. The toolpath engine needs continuous geometry for clean paths. Increase tolerance slightly for hand-traced polylines; decrease for precision CAD imports.
