1. Open the tool
Click Polyline under Draw. The right sidebar opens with point-entry controls; the canvas waits for your first vertex.
2. Right sidebar workflow
Status
Shows Points — the current vertex count.
Starting Point (first vertex only)
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| X, Y | Coordinates of the first point |
Click Set Start Point to place it, or click directly on the canvas.
Input Mode (after first point)
Additional points can be clicked directly on the canvas, or, type values into the Next point section:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Angle/Length | Next segment by direction and distance from the previous point |
| End X/Y | Next segment by absolute end coordinates |
Both modes offer Undo Last Point and Return to Start Position (closes the path by repeating the first vertex).
Current Points
Scrollable list of all placed vertices.
3. Canvas interaction
Click on the canvas to add points. Hold Shift while clicking to constrain each new segment horizontal or vertical.
4. Finish or cancel
Finish Polyline (or Enter when at least two points exist) commits the path. Cancel discards all points.
CNC notes
Use polylines for custom profiles and open-slot machining. Join can connect nearby endpoints after drawing. Apply Fillet on polyline corners for smooth tool entry.
